I think the standard way to play your example one bar one is to let the c ring while the g is plucked. Very clearly this ruins the melody. Would you say the correct method is to silence the c when plucking the g? Shouldnt this rule apply to all guitar music that does not dictate otherwise? I think im alone in playing this way.
